Photos of the Days – It’s been a while…

Due to my lack of access to real internet, the fact that I have an internship across the state and a nearly full-time job, I haven’t been able to upload my photos of the day or make some good blog entries. But without further agonizing, here are the photos!

Photos of the Days

I realized I labeled the photo of the day for May 5, 2010 as May 6. So the picture of my cute kitten is actually for May 5. Here are my photos of the last few days – which I would upload sooner if it wasn’t for dial-up Internet that doesn’t allow me to upload photos, or even send emails these days.

May 6, 2010

May 7, 2010

Spinning around at the Amherst fair.

Chocolate cake - well I guess it's really a tart.

May 9, 2010

Mom's beautiful and delicious bread.

May 10, 2010

Two male ducks. A macro lens would have made this photo more interesting, as I should keep distance from animals.

Photo of the Day – Dinner At Murray’s

March 25, 2010

Okay, so this is from yesterday actually. Last night, I had dinner with some cool people at Murray‘s flat. (This is like free press for you, man.)

I forgot to take a picture while we were eating, so here is the left overs and dessert. That's right, I made the cookies.

Photo of the Day – Milk and Cookie

March 12, 2010

Milk and cookie on cheap white porcelain on faux wood laminate.

If you’ve been keeping up with some of my posts, you would know my favorite place to grocery shop is Sainsbury’s for their good sale items and generally cheap food. I took up the sale of a pack of five cookies, each buy one get one for 1 Pound. Nice! Then there’s the milk, which is expensive everywhere. But they merged to form a cheap yummy dessert. What made it great was popping the cookie in the micro. Wish I could bake my own cookies here (but I’m baking a small cake this weekend).

Photo of the Day – Lemon Pie’s A Bit Sour

March 11, 2010

A disappointing lemon meringue pie.

My parents raised me to eat good food. Not necessarily expensive food. Not glutinous food. Just, simply, good quality food, made with care and whole, raw ingredients.

Naturally, when I went for dessert at my study abroad program’s spring dinner, I was displeased with the, clearly, mass-produced lemon meringue pie. Yeah, desserts are hard to make, and it’s cheaper to buy them from a box to-be-thawed. But, there truly is something special about a homemade dessert. Maybe I’ll bake some cake this weekend.
